What is Body Shaming?

Body shaming is the act of criticizing or mocking someone's physical appearance. It can involve negative comments about a person's weight, shape, size, or any aspect of their body. This behavior can be harmful, leading to feelings of shame, low self esteem, and mental health issues like anxiety and depression. Body shaming can happen in person, online, or through social media representations. It affects people of all ages and backgrounds. The goal of promoting body positivity is to combat body shaming and encourage acceptance and appreciation of all body types.

"No Body Shaming Allowed!"

The "No BS Allowed!"  event is a community gather designed to spread awareness about harm effects of body shaming and promote a culture of acceptance and self-love. This event will feature three interactive stations, each with a unique focus on a challenge center, help and guidance center and self affirmation. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in activities that build self-esteem, learn about the impact of body shaming, and access resources for mental and emotion well being.
